Welcome to the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Long Island Chapter Inc. website! Thank you for visiting our online multimedia portal to information on who, what, and how we fulfill our mission of advocacy on behalf of women of African descent. NCBW 100 LI members include educators, doctors, nurses, senior managers, business owners, film makers, home –owners and consumers whose passion about their community and the world has led them to act as change agents. Through our partnerships with local civic groups we inform and engage citizens around the issues of health, education and economic development at events like our U.S. Presidential Issues Forum. We enable African American women to achieve their dreams of a college education through our Biennial Scholarship awards. We also recognize unsung local leaders with our “Shero Award” and honor the path breaking achievements of renowned African Americans with our highest award the “Trailblazer Award” at our Biennial Black & White Candlelight Ball. Special thanks to our Corporate Sponsors and Civic Partners whose investment of time and dollars enables us to continue our mission and expand the reach of our programs. This is just a sample of our work with many exciting new efforts underway. We remain committed to investing our time and energy to “Inform, Engage and Act” as advocates on behalf of women of African descent and the Long Island community. Come join us! Julie Dade Howard
